About

Through Wageningen4UA, my Etsy shop based in Wageningen, I create and sell original and printed postcard watercolour paintings to support Ukraine. The initiative brings together my artistic practice, cultural background and commitment to solidarity. The amount remaining for me as the artist from shop sales is donated to NL4UA, a Dutch charity supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression.

My artistic training began in 2009, with a foundation in Persian and Arabic calligraphy. I subsequently developed my practice through advanced study, masterclasses and guidance from established artists, including Fallah, Amirkhani and Aliakbar Sadeghi. Since then, I have participated in more than twenty group exhibitions across the Middle East, the Caucasus and Europe. Through the shop, I offer accessible, illustrative works that connect with a broad public and are practical to ship, giving buyers an opportunity to enjoy original art while supporting a charitable cause.

Technique

My paintings combine the blue and white aesthetic associated with Delftware and Chinese porcelain with Persian artistic traditions, particularly bird and flower compositions. I work mainly in monochrome blue, depicting Dutch architecture, landscapes, lighthouses and botanical subjects. Examples include Museum Het Depot in Wageningen, Kasteel Hoekelum in Bennekom, Wijk bij Duurstede, Urk and the Paard van Marken lighthouse. My floral works place camellias, dahlias, delphiniums and other flowers within decorative Persian frames.

Hobby

Alongside my professional interests in academia and industry, painting offers space for relaxation, reflection and personal expression. Since moving to the Netherlands, I have generally painted during weekends and participated in local artistic activities, including Wageningen’s Montmartre op de Rhine artists’ market.

Solidarity

Wageningen4UA expresses European solidarity through art, supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. The project reflects a commitment to sovereignty, peace and collective responsibility. By donating the artist’s proceeds to NL4UA, it connects local cultural engagement with practical support for Ukraine, affirming solidarity across borders and opposition to Russia’s ongoing military aggression.
